This year's Tokyo Game Show attracted record numbers of visitors, with overall attendance coming in at 270,197 across the four-day convention, breaking the previous year's figure of 223,753, the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) and Nikkei Business Publications announced.

This year saw the show's two public days breaking last year's single-day attendance record of 94,989, with 102,399 people on Sept. 21 and 115,444 on Sept. 22. The two business days on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 recorded 29,171 and 23,183 attendees, respectively.

According to organizers, 352 companies from 33 countries exhibited wares at this year's show ranging from video games to peripherals, an increase over TGS 2012 where 209 companies from 19 countries exhibited. A total of 962 products were exhibited at TGS 2013, a slight decrease from the 1,043 products shown at least year's event.

2014 Tokyo Game Show will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan and is scheduled to run from Sept. 18-21.
