The PlayStation 4 Pro is here, and alongside its debut, Sony and numerous third parties have been readying their games for the beefier PS4’s upgraded capabilities. More than 40 PS4 titles support the console at launch, with patches that make games look better and run better, including some updates that add high dynamic range (HDR) color.
It’s a varied and confusing landscape, so we’re here to help you make some sense of it. Here’s the full PS4 Pro launch lineup, with as many details as we could find about how each game supports the console. (If HDR isn’t specifically mentioned, it’s not supported.)

EA DICE shipped Battlefield 1 with PS4 Pro support. Since the game uses dynamic resolution scaling, it will have to scale down the resolution less often when it’s being played on a PS4 Pro. Plus, the frame rate is more smooth, and the image quality — textures, particle effects and other details — is improved over the standard console version.
Rebellion Developments patched Battlezone weeks before the PS4 Pro’s launch to add support for the console. It focuses on three features: increased super-sampling resolution, better dynamic lighting inside the Cobra cockpit and higher-resolution reflective lighting.
Plastic Studios’ Bound has a unique look, with very few textures in its geometrical world. On the PS4 Pro, the game renders the edges of shapes in native 4K with multisample anti-aliasing, while upscaling the interiors from 1080p. This allows the game to deliver native 4K at 60 frames per second.
PlayStation VR users running Bound on a PS4 Pro will see the game “rendering twice as many pixels” as on a standard PS4, which is “literally hitting the display resolution” of the headset’s screen, according to Plastic. These upgrades came in the game’s version 1.02 patch, which was released in time for the PS4 Pro’s launch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
Activision and Treyarch haven’t specified precisely how Black Ops 3 will support PS4 Pro, but during the system’s unveiling, Andy Hendrickson, chief technology officer at Activision's Central Studio, said Black Ops 3 — alongside two other Call of Duty games — will offer “richer textures [and] 4K graphics on top of our trademark 60 fps gameplay.”
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Infinity Ward launched Infinite Warfare last week with PS4 Pro support built in.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
This year’s remaster of 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare runs at a more stable 60 frames per second on a PS4 Pro, and at a higher resolution than 1080p.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
On a PS4 Pro, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided offers the following enhancements: “overall resolution increased, aliasing reduced, reflective surfaces improved, and more detailed lighting effects implemented,” according to publisher Square Enix.
As of Oct. 3, the game also supports HDR color on all PS4s, and on the Xbox One S.
Bethesda has promised to support PS4 Pro hardware with Dishonored 2, which launches day and date with Sony’s new console, but hasn’t provided specifics.
On a PS4 Pro, DriveClub VR will offer “a few more visual details,” according to game director Paul Rustchynsky.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition
Bethesda Game Studios’ current-generation remaster of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim runs in native 4K on the PS4 Pro, offering an increased draw distance for foliage. However, Eurogamer Digital Foundry reports that the game is locked at that resolution — there’s no dynamic resolution scaling — which results in a few frame rate drops below 30 fps.
On 1080p TVs, Skyrim uses super-sampling for a sharper image and maintains the 4K version’s improved draw distance.
The Elder Scrolls Online
ZeniMax Online Studios’ PS4 Pro patch for The Elder Scrolls Online is now available. The game runs in native 4K on the console. For players who own a 1080p TV, the game runs in “1080p Enhanced Mode,” delivering enhancements to ambient occlusion, water reflections and shadow fidelity.
Campo Santo’s Firewatch offers benefits to PS4 Pro users whether they’re playing on a 1080p television or a 4K display; the studio patched the game on Nov. 9.
On a 4K TV, the game runs at 1440p resolution with an “enhanced level of detail,” while the interface is drawn at native 4K, according to the studio. On a 1080p TV, loading is more smooth, and the game offers higher-quality shadows and an enhanced detail distance.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers runs in native 4K at 60 fps on a PS4 Pro.
IO Interactive’s Hitman has been patched with PS4 Pro support. On a 1080p TV, the game uses a super-sampling technique and then downscales the image to 1080p to deliver higher-quality shading and a reduction in flickering highlights.
On a 4K TV, Hitman uses the PS4 Pro’s extra memory to stream in higher-quality textures; in addition, the game’s interface is drawn at native 4K. IO also said that “the overall resolution has been increased, aliasing reduced, reflective surfaces improved and we get more detailed lighting effects.”
Infamous First Light and Infamous Second Son
Sucker Punch’s Infamous Second Son and its download-only spinoff, Infamous First Light, both support 4K and HDR on PS4 Pro. Players can choose “Higher Resolution” or “Better Frame Rate” options; according to the studio, the former provides improved environmental detail, better reflections and higher-quality anti-aliasing.
The games will also downscale these improvements for 1080p TVs, so owners of those displays will still see upgrades.
Killing Floor 2
Tripwire Interactive’s Killing Floor 2 will launch Nov. 18. On a PS4 Pro, the game is rendered at 1800p and then upscaled to 4K for an increased level of detail in environments, characters and weapons. The console’s extra memory allows the game to use higher-resolution textures and higher-resolution dynamic shadows.
On a 1080p TV, Killing Floor 2 is “effectively super sampled,” which provides smoother anti-aliasing. In addition, the game runs at a higher frame rate on a 1080p TV.
The Last of Us Remastered and The Last of Us: Left Behind
The Last of Us Remastered will be playable on PS4 Pro at the game’s original target frame rate of 30 fps at 2160p resolution or at “high targeted” 60 fps at 1800p resolution. For PS4 Pro owners who are playing on a 1080p resolution screen, The Last of Us Remastered will render at a higher resolution and downscale the super-sampled image to 1080p, resulting in “noticeably crisp and smooth graphics,” according to developer Naughty Dog.
The Last of Us Remastered also supports HDR, and Naughty Dog has updated the game’s photo mode for 4K screen capture support.
Mantis Burn Racing
VooFoo Studios’ Mantis Burn Racing runs at 60 fps in native 4K on a PS4 Pro.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Monolith Studios’ Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor runs at 30 fps in 4K on PS4 Pro, and when the action gets particularly busy, the game will scale down the resolution on the fly in order to maintain that frame rate.
Visual Concepts’ v1.05 patch for NBA 2K17, which was released Nov. 6, adds support for the PS4 Pro. NBA 2K17 runs in native 4K resolution at 60 fps on a PS4 Pro, and also supports HDR.
10tons’ Neon Chrome runs at 60 fps in native 4K on a PS4 Pro.
Epic Games’ Paragon runs in 1080p at 60 fps on a PS4 Pro, with graphical improvements such as dynamic lighting as well as enhanced scene complexity and geometry. Other visual upgrades include motion blur, volumetric light shafts and fog effects, increased view distance and hierarchical level of detail, screen space reflections, contact shadows, procedural grass, and advanced light bloom.
The Playroom VR
On a PS4 Pro, SIE Japan Studio’s The Playroom VR runs at the same frame rate as on a standard PS4, but with increased rendering resolution to make edges sharper.
PlayStation VR Worlds
Ratchet & Clank
On a PS4 Pro, Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank runs at an unspecified higher-than-1080p resolution with a technique called temporal injection; it also allow for much better anti-aliasing. The image quality improvements also apply to people using a 1080p TV rather than a 4K TV. In addition, Ratchet & Clank supports HDR.
Users with 4K TVs will be able to play Enhance Games’ Rez Infinite in native 4K. PlayStation VR owners will also see a benefit because the game is rendered at a higher resolution (1080p for each eye, instead of 1440 x 810 on a standard PS4).

Rise of the Tomb Raider
PS4 Pro owners will have three different settings to choose from in Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider: “4K Resolution,” “High Frame Rate” and “Enriched Visuals.” The first setting renders the game in native 4K with a frame rate target of 30 fps, with the extra detail benefiting textures, silhouettes, effects and specular highlights.
The other two options both render the game at 1080p. “High Frame Rate” lets the game run at up to 60 fps, while “Enriched Visuals” keeps the frame rate locked at 30 fps with much higher image quality. That setting delivers hardware tessellation, anisotropic filtering, additional dynamic foliage, an increased level of detail for faraway objects, softened sun shadows, and a better depth-of-field effect. In addition, Lara’s hair will move in gameplay the way it already moves in cinematics.
Robinson: The Journey
On a PS4 Pro, Crytek’s Robinson: The Journey will run at a higher resolution with enhanced lighting effects, longer view distances, higher-quality texture filtering and more seamless level of detail generation.
Hi-Rez Studios’ Smite runs in native 4K on a PS4 Pro, and will dynamically downscale the resolution in order to maintain 60 fps gameplay.
Super Stardust Ultra
On a PS4 Pro, Drool’s Thumper runs at 60 fps in native 4K. With a PS4 Pro and PlayStation VR, the game maintains its 90 fps frame rate but adds super-sampling and anti-aliasing for a sharper image.
Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 already employs dynamic resolution scaling to maintain 60 fps gameplay on both PS4 and Xbox One. The PS4 Pro’s increased power means that the game can keep up that frame rate without having to reduce the resolution as frequently as on a standard PS4.
In addition, the game runs at a resolution that’s higher than 1080p and offers higher-resolution shadows and an increased particle count.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End runs at 2560 x 1440 resolution, a notable increase from the 1080p on a standard PS4. That applies to the story mode; the game’s multiplayer component also gets a resolution boost, going up to native 1080p from 900p. According to Naughty Dog, the increased resolution offers extra detail in environments as well as sharper edges.
Like The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4 supports HDR color on all PS4s. And people playing on a 1080p TV will see crisper graphics thanks to super-sampling.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Slick Entertainment’s Viking Squad runs in native 4K at 60 fps on a PS4 Pro.
Wheels of Aurelia
Santa Ragione’s Wheels of Aurelia runs in native 4K at 60 fps on a PS4 Pro.
Thekla’s The Witness will be patched to support the PS4 Pro sometime in November. The game will offer three different display modes on the console, two for 4K TVs and one for 1080p TVs. It will support HDR color on all PS4s.
On a 1080p TV, The Witness will run at native 1080p, an upgrade from the 900p resolution of the standard PS4 version. It will maintain a 60 fps frame rate with higher-quality anti-aliasing.
Owners of 4K TVs will be able to play The Witness in native 4K at 30 fps with 2x multisample anti-aliasing, or in 1440p at 60 fps with text and interface elements drawn at native 4K.
World of Tanks
Wargaming’s World of Tanks will support HDR color on all PS4s, and on a PS4 Pro, it will render the game at 3200 x 1800 and upscale that to 4K. Along with better anti-aliasing, the game will run with a smoother frame rate, and owners of 1080p TVs will see those benefits as well.
