But why?

Bethesda/Twitch

If you’ve tuned into Bethesda’s lengthy livestream today on Twitch, there’s a good chance you may have quickly tuned out of it.

No one can blame you: Our brains aren’t designed to stare at a screen where nothing’s happening for more than an hour That’s why it’s so surprising that more than 140,000 people are watching a Vault Boy bobblehead (from the Fallout series) chill out in an empty room, in front of a television set that’s holding for some kind of announcement.

Well, maybe it isn’t too surprising; this is the internet, and people are finding their entertainment in Twitch chat conversations and intermittent moments of action.

And, in the case of this stream, they are incredibly intermittent.

One Reddit user, a hero who goes by PM_ME_CODES_4_STEAM, is collecting the most exciting moments from the stream as they occur. These include a very quick, but adorable thumbs up and a box of yellow balloons being dumped into the empty room.

We’ve embedded the highlights below. We’ll update the story as more moments happen, and have a separate story on whatever Bethesda’s big Fallout reveal ends up being.

A man drinking from a coffee mug.

Adorable thumbs up.

A man in a Skyrim shirt whispering into the bobblehead’s ear.

A woman playing with balloons.

A big, creepy plush head.

A man wearing a Pip-Boy on his wrist.

A disturbing Vault Boy puppet.

Return of the puppet!

A box of balloons dumped into the room.

A man peeking his head in.

A Vault Boy mask.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines shares a drink with Vault Boy.

Party time!

New Vault Boy figure!

Man with a dagger.

Enter Pete Hines.

Bye-bye balloon.

The bobblehead is to put to bed, the puppet says goodnight, and a watch has been placed on the table with 9:45 listed. The watch is also here this morning, with 9:45 displayed.

The next level of puzzles.

Take a break from your day by playing a puzzle or two! We’ve got SpellTower, Typeshift, crosswords, and more.
