Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ 66th request, “The Sea’s Legend,” offers nothing but a cryptic description and no guidance to get Manaphy. To solve this puzzle, you’ll need to grab three specific Pokémon and hunt down the Mythical Pokémon, Manaphy. Our Pokémon Legends: Arceus “The Sea’s Legend” walkthrough teaches you what Pokémon you need to find Manaphy and a complete the request.

The solution to this quest actually lies within Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The games have a book that gives the correct quest directions to get Manaphy: a Buizel, Mantyke, and a “Qwilfish with huge spikes” journeying through an ocean gate during sunset. That all being said, you need to do the following:

  • Have a Buizel, Mantyke, and Overquil (evolved Qwilfish) in your party.
  • Head to Cobalt Coastlands.
  • Set the time to evening via sleeping.
  • Using the Basculegion mount, swim between the two huge pointy pillars at Sand’s Reach.

After doing this, a cavern will open up. You do not need to keep those three in your party, and you can swap back to whatever Pokémon you want.

Head to the Seaside Hollow, a cavern on the northern side of Veilstone Cape. Inside will be Manaphy surrounded by several Phione. You’ll need to catch the Manaphy for the request, but you can catch Phione as well. If you miss out on grabbing a Phione, more will spawn in the cave, so don’t worry.
