The tiny bear Pokémon, Kubfu, is the star of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor expansion.

To get Kubfu, you’ll need the Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion pass. After getting the Armor Pass in-game, you’ll have to complete the three challenges that the dojo master, Mustard, gives you. After hunting down the fast Slowpokes, finding Max Mushrooms, and taking down either Klara or Avery (depending on your game version), Mustard will reward you with Kubfu.

To evolve Kubfu, you’ll have to grow close with it first. You can do this quickly by visiting areas marked with an exclamation point on your map. Mustard’s dojo students will be waiting in these areas, and you can interact with them to look at the landscape with Kubfu, increasing your friendship.

After visiting three of these locations, take Kubfu to Mustard and he’ll allow you to visit the Tower of Waters or the Tower of Darkness. You’ll need to grind Kubfu up a lot before tackling either of these towers, as you’ll have to complete several battles in a row with only Kubfu. The game recommends your Kubfu to be at least level 70 before stepping into a tower, so get to training!
